Who invented padel?

Mexican businessman Enrique Corcuera constructed the first padel court in 1969 at his holiday home in Acapulco, but how did we get here?

In the middle of the 19th century, passengers on cruise ships would play a variation of the game with tennis rackets. In the 1910s, "platform tennis" was played in Washington and New York as an alternative to tennis rackets and used rackets instead.

Over the next decade, courts were modified with wooden floors and high fences around them to avoid losing the ball in the winter snow.

But it wasn't until the 1960s that Mexican Enrique Corcuera built the first recognized padel court on land he owned in Acapulco. The main difference was that his court was surrounded by walls and a metal fence up to 4 meters long, designed to prevent the ball from running onto neighbors' land. He called the game "Paddle Corcuera".

Advantages of Tempered Glass

  • Enhanced Safety: When tempered glass breaks, it shatters into fine and small particles. Because of this, it causes less harm to people than annealed glass, as the latter piles up into sharp fragments.
  • Improved Durability: Tempered glass is more elastic and durable, and has stronger impact resistance and scratch resistance.
  • Improved Performance: Because our tempered cricket field glass offers a clear view, players can focus on the game without any distractions.
